Scanning Issues

When scanning with your smartphone or handheld tablet device using your device camera, choose Continue on the scanning screens and scan the barcode of the license and/or VIN by positioning the barcode within the four corners of the scanning screen. Make sure your device is held steadily and not too far or too close to the object you are scanning. When using the VIN reader hold the device camera steadily on the VIN number until the number is read and displayed on the screen.

When scanning with your smartphone or handheld tablet device using the optional hardware scanning attachment, choose Cancel on the scanning screens, wait until it says on the screen, READY, and then scan the barcode of the license and/or VIN by positioning the hardware scanner laser in the center of the barcode. Press and hold until it makes a beeping noise and has scanned properly. You may go back to the previous screen and try again if unsuccessful.

Scanning works best in the daylight. If the object to scan is too dark, you may use your flashlight on your device for light. Avoid any glare.
